What Are the Basics of Film Making?
A film, also known as a video, short film, video, or digital film, is an artistic work of motion pictures or digital art used to recreate experiences which convey stories, ideas, perceptions, emotions, beauty, or setting. The term was first used in Cinema, which describes a genre of films made between the late 1890s and the early 1970s. In this form of art, shots are used to tell a story instead of just showing a subject moving around an image. The emphasis is on the visual and it incorporates visual effects, sound, and music.
With the advent of motion pictures, movies took shape and changed into what we know today as a full-length feature film with realistic special effects and the introduction of dialogue. World War II changed the face of films and changed the landscape of the industry as filmmakers from the U.S. and England utilized techniques such as Technicolor for the silver screen and English movies that came out of the same film industries after World War II to create blockbusters and popular movies like ” Spartacus”, ” Lawrence of Arabia”, ” Coco Chanel and Her World”, “Dune”, ” comedies and farce” among others. During the 1950s and ’60s, movies underwent a cultural change as Hollywood approached black and white to depict movies instead of color. In recent years, digital technology has advanced the format of films and introduced the internet as a way to distribute, host and view these films across the world.
The invention of film gave rise to a new class of artists who came up with the notion of making movies. Independent film-makers who were patrons of motion pictures developed the concept of independent filmmaking that later evolved into independent films that would be exhibited in any community instead of at the cinema. As a result of this technological revolution, film gave rise to the emergence of Hollywood as a major film industry that would create blockbuster hits and produce big money.
Documentaries are one of the earliest forms of film that documentary filmmakers used as the foundation material of movies. Documentaries are often used as source materials for documentaries that tell the stories of events that happened during the time that the film was made. One of the most common forms of documentaries produced today is the docu- Feature films which are intended to tell long stories in a non-traditional approach. Documentaries are often used as historical documentation on important historical events and social issues.
Another type of film is the Mini-Movie or Short Films. These are more than one-minute long movies that are meant to be enjoyed while driving or doing other activities. The term Mini-Movie is often used when referring to independent films that are shorter than mainstream motion pictures but longer than most home movies. Independent motion pictures are similar to motion pictures but are often produced by small companies and produced for specific purposes. Examples of mini-movies include short films for educational purposes, video diaries, art films and art videos.
Another type of film is the Feature Film. Feature films are the most popular form of motion pictures produced by the major film studios such as Walt Disney Co. Feature films are often story-based or have a plot that follows a definite pattern. Although there are only about four or five movies made annually that earn money at the box office, these films are considered awards season favorites because they usually receive Golden Globes for Best Picture and Best Director. This is not to say, however, that independent films are not profitable films, simply that the earning potential is limited compared to major studio films.
