genres of Movies
A movie, also known as a movie prop, movie set or moving image, is a carefully designed work of visual art that employs moving objects to simulate actual experiences that express ideas, stories, emotions, beauty, or setting. Motion pictures are created through a process of development in which an artist designs the picture from a basic blueprint. Each part of the picture is then placed in a frame that can rotate. The viewer is then able to view the movie from any desired angle. The use of special effects and special camera work to make a movie realistic often increases the emotional impact of the film. In the last few decades special effects in movies have included computer generated images, blue screen, and green screen.
Motion picture industry business forms around the entire world and includes all types of industry sub-genres. Most motion pictures are family friendly because they tend to be entertaining and educational at the same time. A number of countries produce most of the movies, while the United States is still the leading producer and market. Some of the more popular genres include comedy, drama, horror, western, science fiction, and action.
A great example of a classic motion picture is Old Joe (1947). This is an extremely brutal film that depicts the lives of three African-American men who are slaves on a southern plantation. The men are separated from each other, an event that occurs regularly throughout the film. It is a stark reality that the men will one day stand on American soil, fight in wars, and be judged by the millions of Americans who view their triumph over a lifetime of servitude against their sworn enemy.
An example of a lesser known but still popular motion picture that was made during the early nineteen hundreds is Meet the Parents. This is an incredibly entertaining movie about two young parents who are raised by their single mother. The mother realizes she must have a son, so she goes out and gets herself an affair with a young German. The movie offers a unique perspective on raising children, because it shows how the children are affected by their environment. It often includes some of the most powerful scenes ever filmed on film. It would be an understatement to say that Meet the Parents is one of the best films ever made by Disney, and the woman who had the affair with the German is undoubtedly one of the most famous women in movie history.
One of the most interesting genres that Disney created was the fantasy genre. Fantasy movies, even if they do not fall into the mainstream category of motion pictures, are often looked upon as cutting edge works of art. In many respects, the fantasy genre offered a world that was much different than our own. For this reason, even though the majority of the fantasy movies ever made are deeply flawed in their approach, they are still highly popular. Many of the best movies in this particular genre often receive accolades and awards, and many of the most successful films in this genre often garner a lot of critical acclaim.
This is just a few examples of the broad genres of which Disney created a wide variety of movies. No doubt other genres were influenced by these films, and even though we are only focusing on the most successful ones here, you can be certain that the choices are vast and that there is likely something available to please any individual or group of individuals who enjoy watching movies. No matter what type of movie you prefer to watch, there is likely a film from the past that will satisfy your personal tastes.
