A news movie is a compilation of events and happenings pertaining to the news. It may be fictional, real, or fictional. The common factor in most news movies is the writer’s attempt to entertain the masses. It is almost always shown during the day on a nightly basis. The United States has had its fair share of news movies, especially since the events in the recent past. In the month prior to the terrorist attacks in 2021, CNN broadcast a news special on what the perpetrators would do after they were done with their crimes. They showed pictures of burnt buildings and told what the aftermath was like. This news movie was not very well received by the public.
A similar situation occurred prior to the Gulf War. A news movie was released that was critical of how the US was handling the war effort. It was viewed widely and critically, so much so that it received an Oscar nomination for best documentary. A similar situation happened a few months later when Al Qaeda kidnapped American journalist James Foley. There was widespread coverage of the situation, and much more controversy came about due to the fact that Al Qaeda was not only holding him captive, but they were killing other media employees as well.
It seems as if the entertainment news has become too much to handle for most people. One only hopes that these movies help to keep the American people informed as they face problems and political issues of the day. It is almost impossible to follow current events without at least some form of news.
Many times the news can affect us in a negative way, such as when a natural disaster occurs. These news movies help to keep the citizens of their state or country up to date on what is going on. They may even offer advice on how to rebuild a city or a town after such a catastrophe. Sometimes the news is a form of advertisement as well. When new cars, movies, or television shows are advertised, this news is often reported as well.
These movies are also a great source of information about current affairs. For example, recent news regarding Iraq has prompted many new movies to be made. Some of them include; “Blackwater” starring Matt Damon, “The Informant” starring Michael Douglas, “Inglourious Basterds” starring Brad Pitt, “itored” starring Ben Affleck, and of course, ” JFK” with Patrick Swayze. No matter what type of news movie you prefer, there are many to choose from.
